(1) Nationalism is a principle which is to secure racial

freedom and equality. In particular, it is to secure

the "emancipation of the Chinese race", "equality for all peoples within the borders of China" and

incidentally "to help all weak and smell races" to attain a position of equality with other nations.

Therefore Nationalism is neither narrow-minded

Patriotism nor is it new or old imperialian.

(2) Democracy aims at political freedom and equality.

In particular it confers upon the people "complete

freedom of assembly, speech, publication, dwelling

and belief", and insists upon "universal election

to office", the abolition of property restriction

and restriction of the franchise to a particular

SOX. In addition to indirectly exercised popular

power, it advocates the recall of officials,

initiation of legislation, the referendum and such

like examples of direct popular government.

Therefore Democracy is no autocracy of any parti-

cular class, neither is it a despotism of a few persons.

(3) "The People's Livelihood". This means the attain-

ment by democratic methods of economic liberty and

equality. It involves the socialisation of the means of production and the socialisation of products that is it aims at securing true and complete economic

emancipation for the oppressed classes and in parti- cular for the propertyless classes, and plans a radical re-organisation of economic conditions with

the ultimate object of securing complete social revolution. To achieve this end, all legal economic

measures (such as sympathetic strikes) will be

adopted.
